Description

Introducing the Eichholtz "Horus Table Lamp," inspired by the statue of the god Horus protecting King Nectanebo II (360-343 BC) in The Met's collection of Egyptian art. This lamp pays homage to the pharaoh's profound connection with Horus, the falcon god of kingship. Their relationship even gave rise to a cult where he was called "Nectanebo-Falcon." This regal lamp, with its copper bronze finish and linen shade, was crafted in the Netherlands. Illuminate your space with the majestic aura of ancient Egypt.

HISTORICAL EXPERIENCE The Horus Table Lamp draws direct inspiration from the meta-grey-grey sculpture of the god Horus protecting King Nectanebo II. The sculpture, part of the Egyptian art collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, dated 360-343 BC, speaks of the profound – if not unifying – connection between the pharaoh and Horus, the falcon god of kingship. The original statue, with its strong, noble form, was recreated for the Horus table lamp in a copper bronze finish and a linen shade, handcrafted in the Netherlands.
